Haru resisted the urge to unsheathe his blades and dodged her flying kick. He staggered awkwardly backward, heels skidding in the dirt and leaves. "You're really making his difficult!" he grunted as he snatched her ankle and flipped her to the ground as gently as he possibly could.

Almost immediately the chain fomr Kaori's kusari-gama wrapped tightly around Haru's left forearm and was pulled taut. At his back, he felt the sharp edge of Sada's tessen. Haru cursed lightly under his breath and froze as the pigtailed girl pulled back, righted herself, and lifted her kunai to his throat once more.

His breath billowed from his lips as the early morning sun began rising over the old rice paddies that now where nothing more than shallow dips in the earth where murky water gathered. The sky was washed orange and pale yellow, the mountains dark against the horizon. Haru shivered and rubbed his hands together, the breeze chilling him to the bone.

Also, I think I should have phrased it "but that's not entirely true" instead of "but that's entirely not true"...the wording now kind of bothers me, but I kind of don't want to take this down just so I can fix it...eh...
